Here's a Wednesday afternoon video share of a really underrated 80's band called The Hooters & their song 500 miles, which debuted in 2003. It really has some gritty, folk-inspired rock with a good back-beat to the song. Also, the lead guitarist has some really sick guitar licks starting at about 1:23 into the song. I never really followed the band, much past their classic 80's hits but The Hooters eased back into action early in the 2000s, first playing a local radio gig in Philadelphia before mounting a full reunion tour of Germany in 2003. For the few years, the Hooters played regularly, resuming their recording career in 2007 with Time Stand Still. The group continued to play gigs, occasionally issuing live albums. The 1992 Hooters 500 was the final race of the 1992 NASCAR season. It was held on November 15, 1992, at Atlanta Motor Speedway and was televised live on ESPN.The race is widely considered one of the greatest NASCAR races of all time, with three noteworthy stories dominating the race: the debut of Jeff Gordon in the Winston Cup Series, the final race of seven time champion Richard Petty's Did you think I could ever forget
